The full mortgage app is in... And I'm terrified!!!

Sooooo....
After along time saving, working hard and saving a bit more in between, our Mortgage application has been submitted, we've got the AIP, the survey fee has been taken, first part of legal fee paid to solicitors, everything seems to be moving with pace now.
My FA says I should have an answer within 1-2 weeks, a little optimistic I thought but we are FTB buying a new build and from what I gather they like to move pretty fast.
Anyway, I'm literally bricking it!!! I can't help but feel pessimistic, when I was up to my eyeballs in debt, worry, and everything else that goes with it I kinda got used to the answer being NO all the time. So when my AIP came back as accepted I felt like i'd hit the jackpot, even though I knew it was only in principal it felt like an achievement. It's been difficult the last few years but if I can get this mortgage it really would be the icing on the cake!
My FA said that at this stage with the AIP etc then it's about 75% complete. I just really hope I get the offer through on the mortgage. My credit file that i've built up from literally zero now shows as being excellent. I have no debt now, I've just cleared some car finance but this is being slow to come off my credit file (soon to put the bu.gger on though!), I have around £350 on a credit card which I pay off monthly, I use it to do the shopping with. Was advised that this was a good idea as it shows lenders that I can manage my finances.
So it's just the waiting game now... My FA says I'm in a good position, I just wish I could believe him. Like I said I'm used to getting rejected so just kinda expect it with everything I apply for. I'm scared, nervous and it's totally beyond my control. I've done what I can and the rest is out of my hands
Guess I'm looking for reassurance more than anything....

I've been there, struggled with debt for years, and was also used to the computer says no routine, when the AIP went through I was in shock (even though we had been saving hard and were reformed debt wise) I think you should be fine, hope your full offer is offered soon. We collect the Keys in 6 days and can't wait.0 -
I'm sure everything will be fine, you've got a advisor and they deal with mortgages on a daily basis so would have a good idea of what is likely to be accepted or not. I worried all throughout my mortgage application (just because thats the only way I know) my MA said to relax and it would go smoothly, which it did. I just wasn't happy until I got the offer so I appreciate how you feel.
It's hard to do this, but just relax, its out of your hands. If they need anything, provide it promptly. Other than that hold tight!
Good luck!0 -
We are in exactly the same position, my experiences of applying for credit in my very old bad money days was no chance, and i found it humiliating, probably why I waited so long to buy a house.
When we were sat in the brokers and the AIP came through passed, i almost screamed BOOM in the mortgage brokers face.
Now I am terrified again but thinking positive!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Exactly the same! We're accepted and awaiting valuation, the mortgage broker doesn't understand why I'm worrying as he thinks we're a straightforward application but until we get the offer I'm terrified!0

Did you use the Help to Buy scheme? Guess that would have helped.0

Sooooo, just to update.....
I got ACCEPTED for my mortgage!!!
There was only one hiccup from the mortgage provider, when the valuation was done (new build) they valued the house at £189,945. The purchase price is £189,995 so there was a £50 difference. Turned out this was a typo so panic over, it still delayed things by about 3 days.
Anyway, over the moon!!!!!0
