Over £270 pounds missing for no loan!

Hi there, a little background- a few weeks ago, me and my fianc! had an unexpected financial need, and although payday loans are terrible, we tried to get one.
Fiance used a comparison website to find you the best deal, under the pretence if no loan is taken out, you will not be charged a fee of £69.99. We did not take out a loan, and thought nothing more of it.
This was until payday, and £270 pounds has been taken from account, barclays said they can not tell us what it is as it is still going through, and not completed, and to come back later.
Well we did, and it was the loan comparison company, and a few others. We contacted them, and after much passing back and forth to different companies, we was given a link to get a refund.
My partner filled this out, and we was promised within 24 hours the money will be back in the account.
Well, 24 hours later, we received ANOTHER text message, saying we mud print it off, sign, and send via post to their offices. My fianc! asked why can we not do this online, as she was told it is all now done online nowadays, they did not have an answer for that.
Now, £270 is a lot of money to us, how can we go about getting this all back? The bank explained the reason it is so high is because when the first company managed to get the 69.99, they forwarded all details to other companies for them to do the same.
Pleas could you offer us some help? Am actually very scared and partner is constantly crying, we only needed a 100 pound loan for a leaky toilet, now its going mad!
Thank you all, Conan.

you need to follow the refund procedure for each of the companies. It is normal for them to ask for the cancellation in writing (as you have found out) but it should be clear in their Ts&Cs...unfortunately it sounds like you may have missed a tick box that allows them to pass your details onto other places0

Ok then, I will send the forms via post.
But is it normal for one company with a 69.99 fee, the only one you have used, to pass it on to others without you knowing and them also charging you between £60-£80 even if you have not took a loan, or used their websites?0 -
You would need to check the terms and conditions of the company. Which company was it?Uk_Warrior wrote: »Ok then, I will send the forms via post.

If you had £270 available for them to take from your account. How come you did not spend £100 of that to get the repair done, without the need for a loan. Just a thought.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
You put your bank details into a loan broker site. It would have been in the t&cs to pass your details.
Never put your bank details into any site unless you know exactly what it is.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Ill say what I have said before, no loan will happen if your asked for your bank details, why not ask family or friends for the small amount as it was only £100.0

Was wondering this myself. If you had £270 available for them to take from your account. How come you did not spend £100 of that to get the repair done, without the need for a loan. Not strictly true as proper lenders will need your bank details to pay the loan into your account.....but I know what you are getting at. This nonsense they tell people about needing bank details to do a credit check is a complete lie.Ill say what I have said before, no loan will happen if your asked for your bank details"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
