Hi I'm wanting to set up an online FIT account for my Grandad. However he still wants to receive paper statements for his gas and electricity bills. Will this be possible.

Absolutely yes. You don't even need to be registered for FiT with the same company that supplies your electricity/gas.

    Morning zanesue

As Fruit and Nut Case says, this will be fine.

When registering, all your Grandad needs to do is select the option to receive paper bills.

If he has an energy account with us, though, he won't receive the discount for paperless accounts. This is £5 per fuel per year.

Once registered, he'll be able to see details of payments made, the next payment date and his generation history. It'll also be possible to send meter readings this way.

    Hope this helps zanesue.

With most electricity suppliers' websites (and I'd be surprised if that's not the case for E-ON's) the user has the ability to download a pdf copy of what the paper bill would have shown.

If Zanesue was to print that out, surely Grandad would be satisfied with that rather than paying £10 to have official ones posted ?

Spot on EricMears. Bills can be downloaded and printed off from our website once a customer has registered their account.

Paperless billing is the default position when signing up but some customers, like zanesue's Grandad, prefer to receive bills through the post. As a result, we offer this option.

More good feedback on the new system. Submitted meter reading about 9.00 a.m. and reading had already been processed when I looked again later the same day. Payment arrived in my current account 4 working days after that, and paper statement arrived in the post too. Well done E.ON!! Are the banks the bottleneck now?
