Hi Everyone

me and my partner recently got a decision in principle through our broker, we will be putting a full application in next week.

i.e wanted to get full month of June statement.

The lender is with Nationwide Building Society for fixed term 5 yr.

On Friday my partner got a good job offer higher pay by 3k and slightly better prospect. Contract will be draft up but she thinks probation period most likely be 3 months.

Would this risk our chance of getting the full

On the nationwide website (lending criteria section)
it states "Probationary Employment - Clients working on a probation period can be considered."

Anyone with any previous experience they can shared

She is also thinking as her annual review is due this month she can see if her company will match the offer on the table.

Many Thanks in advance

My partner started her new job the day before we submitted the full application to Nationwide. Had our mortgage offer in about 2 weeks. Good luck!

    Hi Greg2

thanks for the reassurance, in my opinion its best to be straight with the lender right at the beginning.

So i prob would need to notify my broker of the potential change in circumstance?

but how would the underwriter review the salary etc, would they just look at past 3 month salary, would they then need to verify it with her current employer.

what supporting documents did you provide for the new job?

Have you discussed this with your broker?

very similar situation - we declared our new change and had to fax over new contract and then all was good. It was sent to underwriters and took them just over a week to decide.

Nationwide are one of the most flexible mortgage lenders (although with the new tougher checks now, they might not?). Last year my partner had literally started a new job with a 3 month probation a week before we submitted our Full Application so had no pay slips.

All Nationwide needed was a letter from the company to say she is employed and confirm her annual salary.

That was all fine for Nationwide and our application was accepted. VERY worrying though, i suppose it would depend who is looking into the application.

Thanks for everyone reply , I had a quick chat with my broker he seems to think its okay (don't know why is he so confident) he said as long as the income is better and in similar role and permanent then it be fine.

It's still material change but I don't know let wait and see

I started a new job 2 weeks AFTER putting in a mortgage application, Nationwide leant on the job offer letter. Prior to that I was self employed with a very low 'salary' for the previous 12 months.

    They do seem very flexible.
