Hi
I've got some friends coming round who are keen Baileys drinkers. Has anyone seen it on offer anywhere ?

Cheers
Jen

The aldi one is good, I got the slightly more expensive deluxe version they do, it's not 100% like Baileys but for the price very good.

If you get any alternatives, make sure it's ones made with whiskey, not white wine which some are - and taste awful IMO.

For next time, save the bottle and try this ...

    “BAILEYS” CREAM

    Makes approx. 1 litre

    INGREDIENTS

    400g tin of condensed milk
    170g tin of evaporated milk
    300ml carton of single cream
    250ml of Scotch whisky
    4 teaspoons of coffee essence

    METHOD

Pour the milk and cream into a 1 litre jug or bowl.

Add the whisky and coffee essence.

    Stir together.

Pour into a clean 1 litre bottle.

    ADDITIONS & ALTERNATIVES

Adjust the amount of coffee essence to taste.

The original recipe specified UHT long-life single cream, but this can now be difficult to find. Use normal single cream instead.

Don’t use your best single malt for this. Any cheap supermarket own-brand blend will do.

    TIPS

Use the whisky to wash out the milk and cream containers, then add it to the bowl.

This will keep in the fridge. However, I don't know how long it will keep for: it’s never stayed around long enough to go off.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

This stuff should come with a health warning: it's seriously addictive!

December is my treat month and I calculated that a good size glass of Baileys over ice in the evenings was adding nearly 800 kcal to my daily diet! (But making me v happy).

Eta: if its just your friends drinking, you are much better off buying the 200ml sizes or going down the HM route. A bottle generally has only a few good weeks after opening.
