ECOVENTI...any reports...

Anyone have experience of this company...good?...bad?....

They've installed at my neighbours and I'm wondering about the south facing bit of the installation....now I could be wrong but I could swear the roof of my neighbours points west....

anyone care to offer some advice on the pros and cons of this type of thing?
No two ways about this one: Anything Free is not a Basic Right..it had to be earned...by someone, somewhere

Not a reflection on this company per say, more on this whole "Free solar cells" industy in general

Well put it this way.... with these "Deals" on "Free" installations... NOTHING IN LIFE IS FREE !!..... Why would a company willingly offer you a FREE solar panel installation.... WHY ??? because they will make a lot of money on it and you won't. the only way a person will benefit from these solar installations is if pay to have it installed themselves......

When one of these systems are fitted, the person gets free electricity obviously but that's only of any use if you are actually in the house to use it... ie. During the day...... all the feed fed back into the grid and all the "green" subsidies go to the installation company... that's where the money is.....

My advise, if you can afford it pay for it yourself, if not stay clear as they tie you in for a LONG time and also you'd be advised to check with your Mortgage lender, they do technically own the house after all !!

A west facing roof only loses 15 to 20 % of maximum output compared to an optimum setup so it's still worthwhile.

Have you had a chat with your neighbour to ask them how good they found the service of the company to be? Also, have you asked what research they did into the company, which other companies they considered and why they didn't choose them, and the pros and cons of installation in general (could save you some duplication of effort)?

Not good when three out of your four companies are dissolved or in the middle of strike off action.

Is it really worth doing something that's going to take more than ten years to break even, under optimal conditions...?
