I had the exact same thing the other week when I won a weekend in New York they phoned first to say I was one of three short listed then called back live on air at another time to say I had won the prize (try not to cry like i did lol) fingers crossed u get ur trip to Vegas

I had a similar situation last year with XFM. I had a call from them saying I was one of three possible winners, and to stay by the phone for the next half an hour in case they picked me. I also thought the same as you, that it was just something they said to make sure I'd answer the phone when they called back!!! (I won that comp btw!)
