Mortgage approved, now what?

My husband's mortgage has been approved today - he just needs to send in one more piece of evidence which he's going to do this evening (scan and email). He's got another appointment at the bank (HSBC) on Wednesday - what will they go through at this point? And will the bank request a surveyor look at the property now, or will they wait until after this next meeting?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Is this a mortgage in principle or full mortgage? I imagined that the valuation would have been done before a mortgage offer was accepted and before they saw the evidence?0

Maybe I've got the wording wrong.
He got the decision in principle a few weeks ago, the bank submitted the application last week, and today he's been told that he'll be able to have the maximum amount he asked for as long as the valuation is okay. I think the valuation can be 'upgraded' to a proper survey, so will the bank be requesting that this is done next? Or will he have to wait until he's been to the appointment next week?0 -
Lenders work in different ways. What's the purpose of the next meeting if all the information for the application has been submitted?0

I don't know, I just know they said there'd be a second one to go to and it's got to that point now. I assume it is just signing paperwork etc. Hopefully we can get in touch with the bank today and sort out the survey ASAP because that's the bit we're under pressure to get done. The bank has caused the majority of the delays unfortunately and the fact that it's difficult to contact them doesn't help.0
