Thanks. Encouraging that there are reasonable priced properties around and they may take an offer. I would prefer a little bungalow with some garden space in the remoter areas.

I know you might find this a tough one but Stornoway in the Isle of Lewis will provide you with great value for money as well as stunning scenery. In this day and age, communications and travel are not too difficult. Have a look, you wont be disappointed.0

Cheap areas and slow markets aren't necessarily down to a lack of employment, well paid or otherwise.
I live in a nice village on the edge of stunning Peak District countryside yet within a 30 minute commute of Manchester, Sheffield, Stockport not to mention all the smaller towns in between.
Yet the market in my area is dire and has seen virtually zero recovery since 2006.

why not look at park homes?ok the land is leasehold but control by law,and usually cost less than £30 a week(inc capped by rpi),but things like wate bills and insurance are much cheaper0
