Got a debt that I didn't know I'd got until very recently
£8000 is in interest!!! Total debt now £14,000
So basically it has to be paid
Had an attachment of earnings
I literally can hardly afford to pay £10 a month
Just set up being self employed after being un employed I earning peanuts at the mo!! I get high end of tax credits and just started claiming that
There not going to accept £10 a month are they!!
Any advice ??

More detail needed - why didn't you know about the debt? What's it for?0

Are you a homeowner? any significant assets?
In terms of the court accepting £10 a month it depends on what alternatives there likely are to recover the debt.
Have the court asked for an income/expenditure statement from you?
Given your very low disposable income have you looked in to whether a DRO may be a possibility and suitable for your circumstances?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

It was a car I had to return about some years ago. Never heard a thing until now!! I thought car sold for enough at auction to cover the £7000 that was left and by not hearing anything for YEARSi thought it was done !!! How wrong was I???
Any way they want just short of £14,000
I don't have a mortgage or any asserts so nothing they can take from me, except my pride ....
I've got to return an attachment of earnings to the court0 -
