You may need to consider a DMP which will impact your credit history trouble is so will not paying!

Take a look on the national debt helpline website for information, if you think this sounds like what you need to do take it from there, charities can do the correspondence and set up like CCCS and payplan I believe but I handled mine with all the information and letters on that website.

Have a look see what you think.
  • Ok cheers, will have a look at these, need to sort something out!!
especially hsbc not paid there loan for about a year.

Yes then I encourage you to do something quick! Companies are much more helpful when you have a dialogue. There is a topic on here by cccs matthew I think his name is, he works for CCCS maybe have a look at that topic too.

How about signing up for a free trial on your credit history that would give you some details. Just remember to cancel before you have to pay if you decide to give that option a go.

SOmeone else may have a better idea who comes along.
  • Hi

I am surprised that the HSBC haven't taken action against you sooner. I feel that it is important for you to contact all of your creditors even if it is just to acknowledge the debt. If you are nrevous about speaking to them over the phone and being given a hard time then go onto each companies website and find a postal address and write to them enclosing a financial statement and offering a figure. If they can see that you're strapped for funds and have no other means of paying then they should accept something rather than nothing. It would probably wise for you to either visit a CAB or call the national debtline. Hope that you get it sorted soon.

If you post an Statement of Affairs (SOA) we can see if we can cut back your outgoings any more to free up more to pay towards the debts. Have you shopped around for all your bills/ utilities/car insurance etc as this can make a difference? Also keep a spending diary to find out where your money is going- you might find it slips through your fingers - I know mine does and the 'odd' bar fo chocolate/can of coke/magazine/pack of cigarettes/pint after work/sandwiches at work etc soon add up.

If you post your SOA (see Southern Scousers Sticky - we'll try and help) - it may be that you need to consider a DMP where the 'spare' money you have after your living costs is divided up between the people you owe money to - basically keep posting and I'm sure people who know more about these things will be along to help.

Whatever you do - go to a charity that helps you for free- there is no need to pay anyone to do this. Martin has a list of recommended charities somewhere.
    All the Best.

P.S If they take you to court the judge isn't going to make you pay back more than you can afford- so don't worry. Also it is time consuming and hassly for the compnaies to do that - sort out how much you can pay them and keep paying them - even if they say it is not enough - you can prove to a judge then (if necessary) that you are doing everything you can and not ignoring the problem.
