Rail Travel Voucher question

Hi,
I am planning on using a Rail Travel Voucher to book a train from London to Edinburgh. I got the Rail Travel Vouchers as compensation from a delayed journey a while ago.
My question is, can I go to the ticket office at a London Underground tube station and get the tickets there? I'm guessing not...but just wanted to check. Would be a lot more convenient for me than going to a proper overground station.
Thank you for any help!

Have you rang national rail, or the company who runs the main line you wish to travel with (virgin west coast or great north eastern - i think) - they usually give you the best advice as they run the trains!
If not, could you pop into a ticket office before you go to check?
I have a couple and have only used them on national services so can't help you there.0 -
What stations are near you? You can't do this at any random tube station, but you can at stations served by LU with National Rail ticket issuing systems (for example Willesden Junction).
If you can say which stations are near you, we can advise.0 -
Slightly off topic but depending on who issued your vouchers it may be beneficial to ask the issuing company to add them as e-vouchers to their online system so you can buy your tickets online.
East Coast will definitely do this for you and generally East Coast fares (I am presuming you will be using them seeing as you say you are travelling to/from Edinburgh) are cheaper on their own website than elsewhere.
When you ask them if they will do it they make it out like they are doing you a favour by doing so, however if you use them at a ticket office not operated by the company that issued the vouchers in the first place the voucher issuer has to pay commission to the ticket seller SO it benefits both parties to get them converted to e-vouchers.
If you do book online with East Coast you can also print at home and will save you having to collect the tickets before travelling.0
