Hello,

Im 26 and live with my OH who is also 26, we've lived together in rented accommodation for 7 years, which suited us fine while we were both in uni, I graduated last year and went straight into full time employment. We are desperate to buy our own house, literally all I think about haha!

Our parents are unable to help us financially with the deposit so we are doing it the ole traditional way saving from scratch! The media around me tells me this is an impossible feat, that first time buyers really struggle to get on the housing ladder because of the large deposit, we are hoping to put a 5% deposit down and then well need the extra for solicitors fees etc so were hoping to raise about £10,000-12,000 by next year! I know I don't make things easy on myself!

However before that little pot can start growing I have £4450 of debt to clear :(. My overdraft to pay off currently stands at £1900 and OH at £2000 and a CC at £550. Now I can talk all day long to OH about plans to pay things off and saving and he is going crazy with my constant chatter, so I need to write it down haha to give him some relief!

July isn't going to be an easy month because I have 3 big birthdays to buy a gift for and a nightout for each. However my July wage should be good because I picked up an extra weekend shift this month, which Im trying to do every month just to get that little boost. I've also become obsessed with the world of ebay and managed to make £136 on there although that is slowing down now and I am running out of things to sell.

Thanks for reading Ill try to update weekly :-)
