Scaffold tower

I used a scaffold tower once to repoint the leaking chimney of my two storey house. However, even though it was a modern aluminium tower, it was far from easy to erect and was quite wobbly even with the stays at the sides.0

A cherry picker is a good idea but unless you plan to get it done in a couple of days it might work out expensive. Also, paint japs on the cherry picker might not go down to well with the hire firm.
Only other suggestion is to get a painter-decorator, it might work out the cheapest, if you are not prepared to use a ladder.0
