MotorMile Finance advice

I'm being harassed by MotorMile Finance regarding an alleged outstanding debt (£250) from Pounds til Pay Day dating back to Sept2008. I thought the debt was clear however I've moved banks a couple of times since so this is going to be tricky to prove.

I've asked MMF on numerous occasions to provide written confirmation of the outstanding debt but nothing has been sent. Then two days ago I received a 'notice of satisfaction' from them to say the account was now closed. However I received a call from them this evening to say that the letter had been sent in error & the debt was still outstanding. I'm a stay at home Mum these days & also heavily pregnant and I would appreciate any advice anyone can give. This is the first time I've heard from PTP in nearly 6 years, so will they still be able to chase me after September? Thanks.

    Hi,
If its six years since you last paid, or acknowledged the debt in writing, then it may be statute barred, MM are horrendous to deal with, I would write back and say that you have already requested proof of this debt, and you consider the account to be "in dispute", and unless they do provide you with evidence, you will not correspond with them again.
