So.

SO and I are buying our first flat together, mortgage approved but they want 2 months proof of building up mortgage...what?

Deposit amount: £5950

Our savings account has had £4k in it for the longest time. £600 came from SO's current account, £400 came from my cash drawer, and the other £950 was given to us by our parents.

What do I need to give them?

So get 2 months bank statements.
this will show £4k + £600 + £400 + £950 - job done.

You will need to get a letter from the parents to say its a gift, non refundable and they will have no rights in the property address to the lender.
