Defeated & Desperate - What do I do?

Long story cut very short.
We have £67000 of unsecured debts.
We have a £175000 mortgage (interest only on the best rate possible I've been told)
We owe family members £11000.

We have trusted the wrong people, and around £10000 of these debts are due to bad advice and naievty.

I don't know what to do. We don't spend excessively, always shop around, never buy clothes at full price, son't socialise, don't smoke or drink, have the cheapest suppliers for utilities and we're still struggling.

I don't honestly know what to do now. Where do I turn? I'm scared.

Hi Princess and welcome to DFW!

The first step is to take a big breath and start feeling stronger as you are facing up to your debts which is not an easy thing to do. So well done!

Secondly, Look at Southerscousers sticky post at the top of the forum here for advice on setting out your statement of affairs.

Include your income, outgoings, total debts, aprs, whether they are secured/unsecured, etc and when you post up, the good folk on here will give their advice on areas they think you need to concentrate on.

    Good luck!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Hi and welcome to the boards!

Well done for posting :T Firstly I think you need to grab a hot drink and maybe a few biscuits and then grab a paper and pen and work out a statment of affairs (look at Southernscoussers sticky thread) this is all your incomings and outgoings. Feel free to post it on here so we can give detailed advice, but I think you will also need to contact payplan or ccs. These are both debt charities that wont charge you for helping you.

Do you have any bank charges to claim back or any other assests that arent really needed to sell to pay off some of the debt?

It is much easier to be more helpful when we see a SOA.
