Any support available for young couple?

Hi everyone,
just had our first mid wife appointment today and my girlfriend is roughly 12 weeks gone. She currently works part time at sainsburys (under £350 a month) whilst I work full time earning £23,000 ish a year.
We live with my parents and will continue doing so until I have a large enough deposit for a house.
My girlfriend will finish work roughly a month before the birth and we doubt that she will receive any benefits i.e maternity pay (or very little).
We have received a 'bounty pack' which is great, comes full of info and some free goodies from Asda which we just collected.
I just wondered if anyone was able to help with roughly how much help we would receive, I think I may be entitled to roughly £20 a week TAX credit but how about the Sure Start grant etc
I'm not looking or asking for more than anyone else but just a little help i.e buying cot, pram, car seat and such.
Thanks

This section is for CSA, try asking in the benefits section but to be honest I think due to your wage you will only get child benefit and a little bit of child tax credits.0

You will need to move your post to the relevant section this is for child support as in the CSA...but to answer you query on the sure start grant...no you don't qualify for that its for people claiming certain income related benefits. You earn a decent wage so should easily be able to afford the babies essentials. Try Ebay some fantastic bargains.0 -
The best form of support would be for you to look to increase your earnings? thats what I did when in came to having children.. Living with your parents and paying board probably leaves you in quite a good position financially - especially when you say help with getting a car seat - some don't have the luxury of a car to get about in..0
