Hi all,
I've had a letter today from Connaught Collections advising that their solicitors will shortly seek to obtain an attachment of earnings order.
Are they able to do this? I've been making token payments on the defaulted amount for a number of months now, not a great deal but as much as is manageable.
Just wanted to ask if they can do this and also if anyone has any advice of how best to deal with this?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Fermi. If a CCJ had been recorded would this have confirmed in a letter? Sorry I'm really not too sure on how these things work.0

You should have had correspondence from the court if one had been obtained.
Sometimes it gets sent to an old address though.
Can check your credit files and registry trust if you think they may have sneakily obtained a CCJ without you knowing.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Ok thanks, I will have a look at my credit report and see. Definitely had nothing from the court so that will be interesting.
Thanks again.0 -
Ok so I have checked Noddle and a CCJ was registered on the 31st May 2014. Any advice on what I do next to try and avoid this attachment of earnings?
Thanks.0 -

Thanks.
At this stage, since you appear to have had the court papers (by your previous posts) for defence, then really you only have two options. Pay the debt or allow the attachment of earnings as a payment plan.0 -

If that is the case, and it was ignored or not paid, then probably not a lot you can do.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

The previous post was relating to CCJ paperwork that had been received in my husbands name relating to a different debt, this has been completed and returned. The letter received today relates to a debt in my name that I have never seen any court paperwork for.0
