Outstanding joint debt - CSA Payments

Hi,

Wee bit of advice if anyone can help.....

If there is outstanding joint debt on a loan taken out when married (divorced now) do I still have to make CSA payments or would they adjust any payment I need to make?

Rather complicated this one....I took on a joint loan as part of Minute of Separation Agreement and successfully claimed PPI but the bank split the redress 50/50 although I paid majority of the loan! The bank protested that they didn't 'recognise' our agreement legally and according to them, and I have this in black & white, they say we are still jointly liable for the debt.

There is still 4k outstanding

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks,

What does having an old debt have to do with everyday maintenance of bringing up a child? Totally separate issue, I wouldn't have thought CSA would take that into account (and quite rightly so).

A joint loan is likely to be Joint and several so that they can pursue both when not paying so is unlikely that would be counted.

Is your question more that the other person received half of the PPI claim and hasn't used that towards the debt which exists in joint names?
