Right, now which person knew nothing at all about this fruit & veg. coupon until tonight? That's right!:o:o:o It's typical that, when I'd been away from here much of the day, there would be something like this excellent on. Even though I, only now:o, see it was posted at about 8 o'clock last night and I'd been on here around midnight, folks - I still miss the context completely and, if something like this is on, you have to be saying "Savvy, there is 40p for £5 worth of fruit & veg. on".
Tonight I've been buying Suns and Suns and Suns and Suns and Suns:D:D.
I thought I might not get hold of a Sun as it was now the evening. I went back to my nearest A but no Suns there. However, the newsagent one street away had some!:D Whilst in the newsagent's, I looked at page 10 of the Sun and, when I saw it is valid not only today but tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, that decided it for me! I bought all three copies they had left.
Frankly, it's not nearly enough though is it? After two £5 shops tonight, I still want more. With the packs of strawberries themselves being 2 for £3, that's virtually the whole of another shop to be done! So - I went, stopping at each off-licence/newsagent on the way home from M, I didn't find any till I reached Sainsbobs - there were none in the store but the petrol station had five copies!!:T:T:D:D
I've now bought seven Suns. Last time I bought multiple copies of the same edition of a paper was the last ever News of the World. I have first day National Lottery ticket too - but doubt any of this is really money-saving at all is it?
Is 7 nearly enough though - surely I should have bought more? I decided just another four and that, if I found that many I would get them, otherwise, if they didn't, I'd get as many as they did have, but now I feel a little 'guilty'(?)-not right word-at leaving one behind. I really just do not buy enough - I get too easily led by others in RL who say I buy too much and have a shopping compulsion - but they fail to understand that it's about stocking with just as much as you need and will use at cheapest possible price and about reducing waste as that's not money-saving. I ought not to have been reined in a little on this one:(.
Seven Suns. Merseyside will be aghast:(. But perhaps I can only a tiny bit take away from that by saying I can use them as bog paper later.
With this on, I'm certainly not going '10% cheaper Asda'. In fact I could have bought out all the entire fresh produce in the store tonight. It's just surprising how little £5 gets. I'd now say everything on the M list under fruit & veg. - including that in the Avs M section - should now be bought in M with the £5 vouchers. I even went for the Royal Gala Apples (approx. 67p on 3 for £2.00) even despite them being previously part of a 3 for £1.50 and therefore now 'rubbish-priced'(:rotfl:) - the £5 voucher far out-weighed that! Now got 5 packs in the fridge. It may not be a glitch as it was on the Jazz apples but this is almost the same as one!0 -
Evening all.
No chance of catching up, good to see everyone getting healthy stuff for a change. :T
Bubbs I have better tv signal than at home even though I have trees. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I still have mole hills in my awning. I am sure they are having parties when I'm not there.
Hope everyone is well. :A0 -

Mine was turmeric. I've never even heard of fresh turmeric until today so thought I'd give it a go
I picked up some apples today.
They're quite crunchy and have a nice sweet taste.

Should that not be
"Savvy, there is £5 worth of fruit & veg for 40p. on"
If you are not wasting it which I am sure you are not how are you buying too much, you are just buying when the price is low :cool:When The Fun Stops Stop0
