Halifax soft search failed at dip

Hi
I did an online soft search dip app with Halifax and failed due to credit scoring although passed HSBC.
As I am looking to pay off credit card and loan before applying for mortgage i didn't add those into the form where asked for outstanding lending.
On a soft search would they be able to see these balances and maybe thats why i was rejected?
Many thanks

Just out of curiosity did the results come up online straight away?
When I tried the other day it gave me the option to enter a phone number for someone to call me0 -

Undisclosed credit is more then likely an instant fail on a DIPCurrent DebtNet Monthly Pay £2550[STRIKE]Barclaycard £0 / £2500 (23.9%)[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Lloyds Credit Card Settled[/STRIKE]

I wasn't doing it fraudulently just having a play around with how much i could potentially get.
So at DIP they can access outstanding balances on credit file?
thanks in advance0 -
A DIP is a credit search - although with halifax it is only a soft footprint they can still potentially see it.
What you should do is include it and then tick the box to say it will be paid off.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. DIP went fine with HSBC who all my lending is actually with and when they added my outgoings they didn't include the payments to the debt as that was going to be included in the mortgage.
Do many DIPS fail because of this?
Many thanks0
