Current account comparison tool

innovate

Just read that, from the end of the year, we will be able to download a year’s worth of data from a current account into a single file that can then be quickly read by online tools. The system will then choose the best bank account from a broad range.

This will probably be helpful for people who have only one current account and no credit cards. For everyone else it will be a gimmick. Still, I am looking forward to having a play with that new tool.

To be honest this would be much more useful for utilities than current accounts.
It wont be able to consider if you are using (or need) things like bundled insurances/ airport lounge access etc. I doubt it will recommend split solutions like having a host of accounts with Lloyds, Nationwide etc as effective savings accounts but a working account with XXX
Not sure I'd want to "play" with the tools either. Based on what the article says about it being able to see you do most your shopping in tesco's then its going to have to be transaction level data and so would be fairly valuable to anyone you are providing it to0 -
Since when did innovate get ppr?0

PPR?
Prior Permission Required
If that's what you mean by PPR , this place is certainly less fun without her.

Since June 26 I guess.
MSE towers are like robots. They just count the careless blunders/slips, give yellow/red cards (that, unlike points on driving license, never expire) and then recklessly ban longstanding members absolutely ignoring the simple fact that the more useful posts a person makes, the more mistakes s/he is likely to make. The total number of posts means nothing to them. Neither does the number of thanked posts.
I think that they were glad to find the final excuse (some yet another stupid 'abuse' report) for banning as innovate heavily criticised them for deleting some threads and banning Opinionsforyou.
I am two steps from geting banned too (pre - yellow card 'infraction').0 -
I have no idea why innovate was PPR'd but this forum is certainly much poorer for it
One of the most helpful and knowledgeable contributors is not only now not allowed to post, but is apparently not allowed to receive PMs either :mad:0 -

Is there any chance that this ban is temporary?0 -
What you say is true, but I believe innovate may have chosen not to receive PMs well before the current ban - or possibly allowed her message box to become full.
Is there any chance that this ban is temporary?
I have certainly been in contact with innovate via PM over the years, so if it was a choice not to receive PMs - fair enough.
No idea if its temporary or permanent and don't know whether its even possible to find out0 -
Is there any chance that this ban is temporary? What's the yellow/red/black card system?
To keep the forum running smoothly, we have a card system, to give people a fair idea of what they can expect.Sometimes, we'll give users a quiet word of warning for breaking the rules if they're getting close to a yellow card.
The yellow card should always indicate what it was received for, either with a quote, or a link to the post/thread in question if it hasn't already been removed.
....
What's "PPR" under some people's usernames?
PPR (Posting Privileges Removed) is the term we use when we stop someone posting on the forum.
...
Why are people banned (PPR'd)?
...
In the past, we tried hard not to PPR long-standing forum users. Sadly, we had so many issues taking time away from our core MoneySaving work, that protection had to go.
"Short time" after getting the red card is two weeks.
And other members cannot even guess the reason because the 'abusing'posts get deleted.
