update on job applied for

Hi everyone,

Iv applied for a job on the 5/6/14 and the recruitment company got back to me on the 11/6/14.
I had a telephone interview to see if I was suitable for the role which I passed, they told me they have forwarded my CV to the company and they look through them to see who they want to interview.
I have rung the recruitment company to see how long it will be but that was at the beginning of last week.
I really would love this job but I'm worried if I keep asking how it's going they may retract my CV.
What I'm asking is it OK to keep ringing them up to see what is happening?

Thanks

Of course it is. I'd keep in touch with the agency at least weekly, as there may be other jobs as well as the one you have applied for. It may be that there is no news, as the agency can't magically make the company make a decision, but you are always best keeping in touch.

Hi copy, congratulations on passing your initial telephone interview. Unfortunately the waiting game afterwards can be a bit annoying but hopefully the recruiter will be in touch soon. More than likely, now that the CVs are with the employer it’s just a case that they are working through them. There’s a good chance that the recruiter doesn’t know when the employer will be finished deciding who to offer a formal interview to. Whilst that may be the case, the recruiter may have an idea of when the employer is hoping to fill their positions by, so it may be worth asking them that.

A quick call once a week shouldn’t do your chances any harm at all. Are you on good terms with your recruiter? As long as you’re polite and friendly, it should just show them that you’re keen. They aren’t likely to ring the employer to say ‘don’t look at X’s CV, he keeps ringing me’ as that may reflect badly on them.

I hope that puts your mind at ease and do let us know how you get on.

    Good luck

Thank you both for getting back to me, sometimes I just worry to much.
I have rung them up and they told me mine and 7 other people have been put forward for the role so I'm really happy with them odds as there is 5 posts open in the same roll
