Yes - I had a very good experience with them. You have to fill in an expenditure summary (with many categories) as part of the application. After you have completed the online form, FD ring you, and will go through the expenditure on your FD current account, together with the numbers you stated over the phone.
I had made a mistake on my form (including savings as an expenditure - don't do this for any "savings" you plan to spend on mortgage in future months - doh!) and FD actually called me up, explained the problem and allowed me to reapply. They then processed the application within a few hours of the reapplication, on a Bank Holiday!
Overall could not fault their service.
My tips to you:
1) fill out the application form as a "trial" but don't submit it - just to get the list of expenditure categories, then work out the figures carefully in a spreadsheet.
2) Don't include savings in your expenditure unless you *have* to save for something specific.0 -
My mortgage with Fd got approved recently. The customer service is fantastic and very quick to turnaround the application.
From submitting application to valuation took 10 days!!0
