Best place to buy a new bed?

Hi all,

Well, we've certainly got plenty of MSE value out of our last bed, opting for a 'budget' model with a cheap aluminium frame which has lasted eight years. The frame is cracking and creaking and the mattress has pinged its last spring, so it's time for a new one (as my back can't hack this one any more!).

The question is, what's the best way to get a new bed the MSE way? Somewhere offering 0% finance would be ideal, allowing us to spread the cost without increasing it, but where are the best deals to be had? Any advice much appreciated :D

0% finance is normally built into the price. Legally the company selling the goods can't charge you anything for it, but it is a cost to the company. So therefore they usually put the price of the product up to cover it.

The best MSE way would be to find a bed and mattress you like in a shop and then find it cheaper online, paying with a credit card for extra protection. Then either paying the balance off in full or swopping the credit over to a 0% card.

Personally I would try IKEA. You can try out the mattresses before you buy and there are plenty of options to suit one's particular comfort requirements.

I have had an IKEA bed frame with mattresses for about 10 years and I will definately use them again to replace the mattress when the time comes.

Ikea do very few UK sizes beds. Most of them are Continental sizes.

I got my bed from Ikea 10 years ago, it was the cheapest bedframe they had in the store (which was £75) and a decent mattress. Both are still going strong and I'd repurchase there again if I had to though would opt for a bed frame which looks a little more decorative if I had the cash.
