Getting a mortgage on a work permit

Hello,

My husband is Canadian and I am British. We live in England and my husband has a successful job in NHS management with a guaranteed salary increase for the next 5 years. My husband is on a 2 year work permit that will be renewed early 2015. He will then be entitled to another 2 year work permit before we can apply for him to stay indefinitely. We are very eager to get on the property ladder but are struggling to find a mortgage lender, despite having 15% deposit. Has anyone been in a similar situation and does anyone know of a lender that may be able to help us?

Thanks in advance.
