Hello
Can someone help with what might get crusted powder off my washing machine drawer? I've tried soaking in hot water, putting neat vinegar on and scrubbed it every half hour or so but not really coming off
Have tried to search but not found any suggestions other than not letting it build up
bit late for that!!

Soaking in vinegar or a mix of bicarb and vinegar should shift itThe best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0

Take the dispenser out and put in dishwasher.
If you haven't got a DW then submerge it in a deep bucket and lots of hot water/soap solution and then scrub it out when it has softened HTH0 -

This is the method I would try. Very hot water and fairy liquid in a bucket. Soak the dispenser drawer and (wearing rubber gloves to protect your hands from the hot water) give it a swish around to agitate.
It should do the trick. Try using an old toothbrush to get in at the stubborn bits.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -
Yeah definitely take it out if you haven't already - I find it impossible to get to all the nooks and crannies when it's still in the machine. I just use a brush (think I got a pack of 3 in poundworld) and lots of running water. I use liquid detergent now though so very rarely have to clean the drawer!0

Don't forget, whilst the drawer
is out, to use a brush dipped in bleach to clean the drawer housing, especially any water jets above the drawer.0 -
Thank you. Took it out & soaked it in just hot water first - thought this would make it easy to clean. Might leave it in some water & washing up liquid tonight.
Have tried vinegar & bicarb, I think it's slowly coming off but it didn't make much difference! Will def not leave it so long next time!!0 -
Would dishwasher be better than soaking? Would you put it in alone or with the rest of the pots please?0

Put it in the dishwasher with everything else.:footie:

Not sure about putting it in the dishwasher. The drawer could warp from the heat in the dishwasher. It then would not fit back into the washing machine making for a very expensive lesson.0

You could try a paste of bicarb and leave that to soak into the soap powder. Are you putting too much powder in for it to get that bad?0
