:j Happy Saturday everyone! :j
When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big "stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So, this is actually what we did yesterday. Sorry to be a maverick!
 Washing is out to dry on the whirligig.
 OH killed the last of the moss on the back garden path with our power washer instead of paying a local company £50(!) to do it.
 Paid an extra £200 off my debt using money received from Tax Credits overpayment.
 Eating homegrown chinese radish and mini salad leaves.
 Went to Prestwick Beach by way of a one day Holiday at Home. I can honestly say it was the best day we've ever had on a Scottish beach. The sun was scorching and we had a lovely time lying on our sun-loungers, playing in the sea, watching the kite-surfers and having a picnic. (We took bread and butter with us and bought cooked meat and goat's cheese for £2 from the local butcher and four cans of fizz from the Co-op for £1) We bought souvenirs too: a £2.50 charity shop t-shirt for me and a £4 charity shop hooded sweatshirt for my OH, both much needed as we (honestly) have very few clothes. We also took our watches off and just enjoyed the time we were having without clock-watching. Though we did set an alarm for 4pm on my mobile so that we'd miss the Friday evening traffic coming home.
 OH broke her flip-flops and mine are dying fast so they will need to be replaced as we wear them every day for light gardening jobs too. However, OH has a pair upstairs unworn which do not fit her. I will inherit these and buy her a new £3 pair online. No fancy shoe shops for us!
 Doing Ipsos surveys. Please note they will soon be changing their name to iSay, in case anyone gets confused!
 Bought petrol in S Ayrshire as it's 3p cheaper than in Inverclyde.
 Filed away all paperwork tidily in case required in the future.
Still to do:
Test potatoes to see if ready to harvest yet. Oh thinks "yes", I think "no".
Enjoy 'free' flowers growing in our garden.
Clean up tiny patch of mould before it spreads, damages something and takes over the building. (Ongoing battle.)
Discuss this year's holiday with OH. One-night away on a budget of £50. We will not give in to the desire to spend £1000 we don't have going to the Near East.:A
Print wage slips for my records.
Will bring back seaweed to use as fertiliser/add to compost later. If you decide to do likewise remember to wash off the salt first!

Afternoon Money-Savers!!

Thanks for starting us off Mooomin... Lovely to see you back Ally... And DNMS, sounds like you've got a hectic weekend ahead! Hooray for the gorgeous weather!!
So, I'm working nights all weekend, which REALLY sucks!!
On the plus side, I am actually supposed to be on leave tonight which I knew nothing about - (our lovely employer re-rosters our cancelled days off to suit them rather than asking us) - but our team are desperately short, so will be working for double time  hehe... Softens the blow somewhat!!
Not a great deal on my list for today, as will try to kip outside in the sun so as not to completely waste this gorgeous weather!!
Check banking
Make VSP to savings
Do some more Nectar Adpoints - have found doing this on the iPad much better, as the sound stops when you are required to click, so you don't actually have to watch the thing!!
Wash and vac car in work as I didn't have time last night!
Yummy pulled pork rolls for tea tonight
Exercise both days, probably in work'a gym tonight and outside with OH tomorrow when I wake up
Water the allotment and pick some more goodies!!
Choose a rental DVD from the library for tomorrow night
Submit hours at work and see if there's any more OR going next week!
Think that's about it from me... Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend - see you Monday!!
Love, Shoot x:T DEBT FREE AS OF APRIL 2013! :T"I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul"0
