Pay banding/wages frozen

Hi, my company has just gone through a pay banding review and I have received a letter today stating that as I am at the top of my pay band I shall not be getting a pay rise.
I work a shift and in previous years I received 15% of pay as a shift allowance, but as of last year due to payroll messing up this payment it was agreed it should just be added to my pay. Meaning I got a £5k pay rise instead of shift allowance. My company has not taken my shift and this payment into consideration when setting the pay bands.

My question is, is it worth arguing about and reverting back to previous arrangement? But Someone has pointed out that my previous shift payments didn't add to my pension, whereas my increased pay does, also any overtime is higher paid.

Be interested in your thoughts. Thanks
