Heard the author Anne Fine talking about a game called Boxes but haven't heard of that before. I'm from east coast Scotland so maybe it's a west coast game???

The boxes game i know is when you have spotty paper (or dots drawn on paper) you then take it in turns to draw a line and if you complete a box then you get a point. I used to play this with my Nan and she was from Montrose0

I'm from the west coast and we used to play that when my sister and I were younger, but I didn't think it was a regional thing! I was never really a fan though - it always annoyed me, haha!0

I don't think it's specific to any area of Scotland - I'm English although I now live in Scotland, and definitely played it as a kid. It's probably more about the type of game your family or friends happened to like.http://static.moneysavingexpert.com/images/forum_smilies/smile.gif0

It is an international game -I remember playing it as child in South Wales and friends from the USA played it in their schools.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
