"Forced" PPI - can I do anything?

Hi everybody,

About 2 years ago, I applied for a loan. I was very strongly led to believe that I had to take out the PPI with lines like "I don't think I can approve this loan without it, sir..." etc. They are as fresh in my mind as they were then, and I strongly believe I was misled.

I went into the bank and complained about it recently, having discovered that you *don't* have to take out PPI. They have now said the best they can do is give me a new loan, without the PPI, but of course - it's on a higher rate, because I am no longer a graduate, which I was when I got the initial loan.

Are there any further steps I can take to push my case? The person "getting back to me" about it hasn't got back to me for about a month now...

Thanks in advance.
