Hi,
Our beloved ICECRYPT T2400 Freeview recorder is playing up after 18 months, and now the entire front panel showing clock, programme, channel number etc is dead.
We want to back up our recordings (I know, should have done it earlier!) and can plug in a USB stick, copy a recording to that, then transfer that onto our desktop PC, and even convert the .TRP file to DVD format using WinAVIAllInOneConverter.
The .TRP file plays fine using VLC player, however.....
....when converted to DVD format and the .VOB file is played back, it's always out of sync. No point in then burning a DVD if it's not synced!
Any idea's whats best to covert .TRP to DVD please anyone?
Like I said, the copied .TRP file plays in sync., but the converted .TRP to DVD always plays out of sync when clicking the .VOB file
Using Windows 7 Home, 8Gb RAM, and err... not sure else what I can tell you that might help
Thank you.

Try manually demuxing it using ProjectX before converting to DVD

 Cheers!
But I have no idea what demuxing it means and I have no idea how to run it0 -
There's some information about dealing with trp files files on this thread: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=538347
It's about the Vestel freeview boxes really, but does talk about how to extract trp files into other formats, with some download links.0 -
Project-X splits the video into components parts - video, audio, subtitles, and so on.
If there are errors in the original stream it should pad out with additional frames to keep everything in sync.
All you need is the video file and the biggest audio file (any other is likely to be summary for the visually disabled)
I don't know how your DVD authoring software works but presumably it'll accept individual audio and video files.
It's in a .jar file. You need the Java runtime environment to run it.
