Saw something about Pontin's on Watchdog, check recent reviews before you book to see if they have improved. We stayed at the Southport one about ten years ago, it was cold, noisy and dirty and according to the people who contacted Watchdog, it hadn't got any better.

Southport Pontins is basically chav city. If you like to holiday with people who act like the families on shameless this is a good deal for you. Think feral kids running wild, binge drinking, groups of idiots running around in the middle of the night making animal noises and other general chav behaviour.
