Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I have not been living in the UK for the last 3 years consecutively and have been advised by my mortgage broker they are the only ones who will give us a mortgage, apart from Halifax (only 2 years though).
Would really like to hear peoples thoughts on SBS.
Thank you.

I like Skipton, I send a lot of my business their way.
That being said, I would be very surprised if they were the ONLY lender, theyre not known for being the most lenient (although they are not difficult).
They need to pick up atleast 1 line of credit, so assuming you have a phone or bank account then they should at the very least be able to find you.
They have a bit of a backlog at the minute, 6-7 days to look at applications last I heard.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Anybody able to recommend a solicitor as the one I suggested have been turned down by Skipton because they've not dealt with them?
The one recommended by my broker is expensive, compared to the other solicitors in the area.0 -
SBS will have a list of approved panel solicitors.0

See the earlier post about how they upped their SVR in March 2010 by 1.45% (to 4.95%) to see how they treat their customers.
Luckily I'm only stuck with them for another 3 years.0
