Will my benefits be effected if I work 9 hours? Currently on Carers Allowance

I currently look after my mother the majority of the week, however it does grind me down at times (I receive carers allowance). I feel isolated and lack interaction with others. I have 3 children and a wife and currently receive IS, CA, HB and CB.
I have been offered 9 hours of cleaning each week approx £60 per week. Before I accept this pt work, how will it effect my current benefits. I am really trying, but hate seeing money given in one hand and taken with another. Please do not judge me, prior to my mother's stroke I worked full time with long hours. All I'm trying to do is better myself a little. Your help and advice is appreciated.

£60 a week won't affect carers but may affect other benefits you receiveHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

£60 earnings will not affect your CA but will affect your IS, £20 will be disregarded the rest will be deducted from IS. However you should still receive IS if your partner has no income therefore it will not affect your HB or CTB.

Thank you for you responses. My wife looks after the children so has no income. The only income is that mentioned. So please clarify our IS won't be effected? So I am right in saying this will benefit me financially. I'm so concerned I'll end up very little or not at all. Who are the best people to contact to verify this. thank you.0

As I said in my post you will still receive IS but will receive less but you can check with CAB , welfare rights or advice centre, or use an online benefit calculator. When you speak to the LA or HMRC make sure they know that your still on IS even though you're working.The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0
