Moving a self defrosting fridge freezer

My mum is moving next week and has a self defrosting fridge freezer. Does anyone know when we should turn it off and plug in again? My feeling is turn it off the night before and once moved, allow a couple of hours for everything to settle down before plugging in again.

Any advice gratefully received!

I agree, more or less, with your timings.

Allow it to thaw out, cos there's likely to be some water in there which will go everywhere when you move it. Try to keep it as upright as possible and allow 4 hours before plugging back in. I just had a new one delivered a few weeks ago and they told me 4 hours.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    Yep, that's what we did.

You only need to wait if you tip it or lay it down, if it's kept upright you can plug straight back in
