When being offered to being able to work some of your weekdays at home, with others to still be in the office by the company, then when this arrangement starts is there usually a contract with terms and conditions to view and sign?

the duties to be done at home will be the same as in the office,

but is it still usual for the company to have a contract with terms and conditions ?

I mean when the worker works for the company as a PAYE employee for them.

I don't know about usual, but I can tell you how my employer does it.

For us, the working from home arrangement is strictly non contractual. My employer makes very clear that our normal place of work is the office, and that it reserves the right to change its mind at short notice and ban homeworking. So, we don't get a new contract - because the old ones still applies in full.

If your employer was offering a contractual change, then I would expect to see something in writing - but the terms of a contract don't have to be in writing.

What's the reason behind your question? Are you worried your employer is planning to trip you up somehow?
  • People on PAYE who are required to work from home can claim some expenses, provided that they can prove it is not a choice by having a contract of employment that shows their home address as the place of work.

Perhaps it varies per company ?
  • If they were changing your workplace to be your home, there would be an amendment to contract to change your place of work. You would then be able to claim expenses to travel to your office as it was not your normal place of work.

I suspect this more of a management discretion decision, so don't believe they will confirm anything in writing, contractual or otherwise.
