I have only two previous creditors who have not marked their accounts settled on my credit reference having checked them with both experian and noodle.
I have seen your letter but I do not have my bankruptcy order as that got left behind when I ended my marriage years ago..I do however have a discharge certificate. Do I need to go and get a copy of the bankruptcy order ?
Also I just read that I need to send it to a Data Controller. So I am assuming I can call up these businesses customer services and get this information if not I have to locate it..I send the letter off registered post to show I sent it wait for their reply and if not resolve after 28 days I have to do??? Sorry reading your thread I got confused here..
I saw that they can take up to 9 months to correct my file? that for me will take me over the 6 year period..do they not remove all the inaccurate information back to the bankruptcy date which has hampered my credit rating? I only now know about it as I kept my head in the sand until now..it was hard enough going through it and getting divorced.
I am now trying to make it all correct so next year I get as close to a normal life back as I can have as a discharged bankrupt.
Your advice is much appreciated.

Some will correct very rapidly. Some you have to fight. Hard to say in any particular case.
Is the original default date in this case before or after your bankruptcy date?
If before or on your BR date, it will all drop off by the 6 years anyway, no matter anything else that it says, settled or not.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
