Closer to 30 in age and debt...race to pay!

Hello there! :hello:
I'm not what you would call new around here; I've been a long time lurker and avid reader for a good many years but I've finally decided to start a diary as my life feels like it's running away with me....along with my debt!
A little background, because let's face it - we're all nosy and want the dirt! :rotfl:
I'm 27.5 (.5 very important) and I live with Mr B and our 2 cats. We're getting married next year and I can't wait to become Mrs B, BUT I wish these debts weren't hanging around our necks. Ahem, my neck.
As you can see from my signature, I'm almost as old as my debt! Urgh! It started as soon as I turned 18. My parent's advised me against debt, (and they are debt free and soon to be mortgage free as well - at 50) but for some stupid reason I never listened. My debt last year totalled around £35k, so I am slowly getting there making whatever overpayments I can with the help and encouragement of Mr B too.
Anyway, the set up is this - I earn a decent salary and so does Mr B (although his is commission based so does fluctuate) and we have a joint bank account; which we treat as our savings/wedding fund so we can both see where we are at any one time.
From my salary, I pay the rent, council tax, bills, pet insurance, my mobile bill, all the food and my repayments. Mr B pays for the Sky/BB/phone and that's his luxury item. He then pays for his fuel and has £100 'pocket money', with the remainder being transferred into the joint account as our savings. So effectively, Mr B is paying for the wedding :rotfl: We both have company cars so have no vehicle expenses, other than the taxable benefit.
To some, this may seem like an odd set up but this new change means I have very little disposable income from my own salary to go wild with and Mr B can see when I am 'dipping' into the savings for extras - which rarely happens. :A It's the best control measure for me and now the CC's are gone (except the 0%) I don't have the option of just 'sticking it on the card'.
I have come a long way but I've had enough of being in debt and the only thing I have to show for it in 9 years is some nice holiday snaps and a few pairs of albeit, nice shoes!
So I plan to utilise this diary as an outlet in case of temptation to spend - my guilty pleasure is skincare, beauty products. And shoes. And clothes. And bags. Well anything really
See you tonight, with a June to-do list!
