Hi all thought I would start a diary as it may be good for my money tracking and helping me stay on target!
So a bit of background on my debt, current total debt stands at £3824.18, whilst I know this isn't a horrific amount, it is something that I would rather not have! The debt came around as 3 years ago a relationship I was in ended and I wasn't living near my friends/family at the time. This ment a move back to my home town, putting a deposit on a rented flat, furnishing this flat and paying bills, food shopping etc. My life got a bit out of control and I ended up partying and drinking and spending far to much money for the following year. 3 credit cards, 3 overdrafts, a family loan and a catalogue account later my debt was over £6k.
Fast forward to today, I obviously managed to pay off just over £2k in 2 years and the debt is now down too just 2 credit cards and an overdraft which only has £20 left on it to pay, one of which should be paid off by the end of the year just then leaving me with the biggy Barclaycard! My wages will also increase from July payday meaning that I can throw at least £400 a month to my debt.
Im usually good at staying on track but the past few months Ive just gone off track again! No more credit you will all be glad to know! Just spent all the money I had in my savings account on a holiday, silly I know but its booked now, all inclusive and will be my first holiday in 5 or 6 years! So as I say from July is the month I will be able to throw a lot more money at this horrible burden of debt and get some savings behind me!
Aiming to be debt free by June next year, exactly 1 year from today! I do extras such as surveys and polls so anything extra from that will be thrown at the debt also!
Im growing up now and will be 26 this year, myself and my boyfriend are aiming to move out next year so this is my 100th LBM that has to work!
Ill keep you all updated!
