Dear all,
Since my last post we have now sent all letters to our creditors using the template letters from the National Debtline website.
I was wondering what the next step is, will the creditors contact by post. I know that we have to follow up on 30 days if not before. But what is the general course of action, what happens in this situation.
All ideas appreciated.
Regards

Hello there,
I really hope that you found the letters useful. You are likely to get a mixed bag of responses from your creditors. Some may write to you, some may call. I would hope that you creditors quickly accept your offers of payments but please be aware that it can sometimes take a few attempts before they will come around to your offers. Be prepared to stick to your guns.
If you have made an offer of payment do start making that payment to show goodwill.
This page on our website clearly explains the options that you have available if a creditor continues to refuse your offer of payment.
You can also seek further information via our fact sheet.
Best wishes,

Hi,
Thanks we are working out our finances, we have finally got our tax credits. Foolishly we were entitled last year, but never thought to apply.
Once we have worked out our incomings/expenditure we will be able to maker offers. However I am also mindful that mortgage rates are likely to increase this year.
