Guarantor for someone renting when applying for a mortgage

Hi,
I've been asked to be a guarantor for someone who is renting.
I have a mortgage currently but me and my husband plan on moving soon and will need to apply for a new mortgage, would they take into account the fact that i was a guarantor when we apply for the mortgage and could this effect how much we could borrow?
thanks for any help.

If you disclosed it it might.
Being a guarantor is a serious commitment with far reaching (and long enduring) repercussions. Be very careful before you enter such a thing.0
