How to prove no longer required by employer.

My boss employed another part timer @ lower hourly rate than me. Since then I have found I'm being left out of the loop and not being given info where needed.
If I left the part timer would get a day or 2 extra and still not cost as much as me.
All this isn't legal but I can't prove owt.
I'm trying to get something else but wondered where I'd get if I asked for redundancy - I'd get a couple of weeks money `cos Ive been here nearly 2 years and would wait till that time.
Any suggestions?

You wouldn't be redundant as the part timer would have to take on your hours.
Sorry if that's not wanted to hear, I may be wrong but that's how I would see it0 -
Keep a note of instances where you beleive you are being kept out of the loop. Don't jump the gun at this stage as it could just be a matter of someone over looking you by accident as anything done deliberatley. Dont bank on getting a whole wad of money. I would check you company's policy on redundancy pay - the current guide line is one week per year of employment but don't quote me on that as it changes from company to company. I wouldn't ask straight out for redundancy as they may see you as someone who doesn't want to work for them anyway which may do you even less of a favour.
Are any of your coleagues being treated the same? Find the general concensus.
Would you consider biting the bullet and having a meeting with your line manager to discuss some issues?Dirty Cash- DEBT BATTLER:mad:0 -

(a) could you explain what you think isn't legal about the situation?
(b) there is no redundancy if someone else has to do the work when you have left - redundancy is when there is no longer a need, or a reduced need, for the work being done0 -

Thanks for the replies - only just got back on line.
To try and explain a bit more - there are only 4 full time staff - 1 in factory, 1 fitter and 2 (incl Gen manager ) and 2 part time staff. It's been suggested that this franchise branch is losing £5000 a week - a fact I find a bit difficult to swallow, but who knows?
Gen Man gone on hols now and given part timer duties and left me to `do my own thing'. Possibly a compliment but I don't think so. All it does mean is that I have to do all the lousy menial tasks on my own instead of sharing with part timer as usual. (Also means I can access this site but that's not relevant really !)
Perhaps I'm just being paranoid - but they ARE all against me !
The other part timer had also noticed the problem but can't offer any advice due to age - won't get another job if they start on her too. I'll just have to stick it out until something else turns up. Thanks again anyway.0
