Thanks

I think that the price is determined by the probability of being able to collect the debt, and could range from 80+pence/£ for a recent debt to literally pennies/£ for really old and statute barred debts.
Either way, I think it is a despicable practice and should be illegal.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Thanks for that.
However, i was wondering if i have any legal rights to know what a DCA paid for my debt under the Data Protection Act/human rights legislation.

Even if you did, which is an interesting question and way above my capacity to answer, the majority of DCAs already show scant regard to the OFT guidelines, so I would imagine they would show even less regard to the Data Protection Act or Human rights legislation.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser.
