Adding name to title deed as a Partner

A rental property my partner used to own was repossessed in 2010 and sold with a shortfall of over £30,000. Now a charging order has been put on our home and its been highlighted that they will request for repossession order etc. This is not the only debt we have and we are financially struggling to put meals on the table. We cannot afford to lose this property, has very little equity anyway which if sold may only pay solicitors fees!
How can I add my name to the title deed of our home as an unmarried partner? Will it protect our children? Desperate for pointers please!

Too late to change the course of history.
If there's no equity currently then repossession isn't the answer for the creditor. So your home is most likely safe for the time being.0 -
Thank you very much for the response, it does give me peace of mind.
However, is there a way I can add my name or register interest in the property in order to have a say on what happens? I just need to be aware of what other options are open to us. We can't rent due to poor credit history due to financial crash as we lost over 6 properties running into £0000's shortfall.
We will be having the property valued again this week just to be sure.0 -

I simply use these forums to share my knowledge, reinforce my learning and experience as an IFA. Please remember, if your circumstances are complex, speak with your local IFA from Unbiased or VouchedFor directories for regulated financial advice.0 -
