I agree with the above, however I know how you feel.
I once had a boss (we shared the same office with 2 others) who would wait until we went home at night before he left little notes on our desks with jobs on.
He would also send us all e-mails asking for something - whilst we were in the same room and were sat a couple of feet away.
I remember reading that e-mails have taken away a lot of the "management" skills, as it is easier to avoid issues face to face by sending e-mails etc.
I always emailed my down line tasks because it's easier than wandering around the department to find them, you always got stopped by someone else on the way too.
It was also handy to prove I'd asked for something to be done. Our departmental secretary liked to pick and choose her tasks. She often denied being asked to do things that involved a specific department shed had run ins with!0
