Im just putting together an Approved Food order and they have catering sized tins of veg at silly prices. If I bought these would I be able to portion them off and freeze them or would they go to mush when they defrosted? Thanks. Im thinking particularly peas and sweetcorn.

I would not. The veg has been preserved by canning.
I think you would loose a lot of the goodness in now freezing it as well.
Loss of texture and flavor.
Possible = yes.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Just guessing, but if you're desperate to buy them, then you could turn them immediately into a soup and freeze that.0

I think you are right they would go to mush after defrosting.0

Why would you want to? Just keep them in the can until needed.. canned veg does not 'go off' it may lose a little of its colour or flavour but it is perfectly edible years and years later.. If you only need part of a can put the remainder in a tub in the fridge.
Don't put the can in the fridge as once opened it makes your food taste funny.. just fridge it and eat it a day or 2 later.
Dates on tins are totally irrelevant and to be ignored.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I often freeze chopped tomatoes i've not noticed they're any the worse for it.
If you were to blanch the peas and corn first would that help ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I find tinned peas a bit mushy to start with, I would think both would be a bit softer after freezing - but perfectly edible - fine in something like a soup or stew but not as veg on their own any more. If the tins are cheap enough to take a gamble then go for it, otherwise just get one and do as suggested and fridge the leftovers for a couple of days.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

I agree totally with the above, but these are 1.5kg tins and I doubt I'd want to look at them by the time I was halfway through!0 -
If using them in a stew or soup I think it would be fine, but just draining them and freezing I'm not sure how appetising they would look when defrosted!0
