FOI request - be very careful not to stray into your personal circumstances. Just ask about "Those who are in receipt of pensions from the NHS (Scheme Name)" or similar. They will look for any opportunity to say the question is not allowed.

    Also,
I would send that as a recorded letter too. Its so easy to blame website problems for not dealing with your question. If you do rely on an email make sure that any automated reply includes the request and screen print any on line message that confirms receipt.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

    Hi agin

    Freedom of Information:

This is their FOI page (not obvious):

The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act gives everybody the right of access to all information held by organisations such as ours.
We will remove your personal details from the published version of our response to you.
    ..........................................

This is the web link to filling in the form:

    https://www.ppa.org.uk/NHSBSA_foiRequest/initRequestForm.do

You should get an acknowledgement within 2 working days as to whether they hold the information or not. If you don't you can complain.

Believe me the IC takes compliance very seriously. As said, don't ask about you, don't personalise it. Ask about the policy, guidelines about cost of living increases, the rules etc. All this should be documented. If it isn't they have to say. If they don't hold that information they have to say and tell you where you might be able to get hold of it. There is an obligation under the FOI to assist. What they cannot do is ask why you want the information.

If you go through the 'whatdotheyknow' website you have a 'public' record.

You can also use the Data Protection Act to get what they hold about you under a Subject Access Request but that may not be helpful.

(Subject Access Request: this applies to any organisation that holds information about you based in UK although there will be similar legislation for ECC countries. If you write in the organisation has to supply what it holds about you - if the information is coded they have to ensure they explain. They are able to summarise. Go to IC site to find out more.)
