I know there's 'the' SW thread but I just wanted some specific advice. Am going to bite the bullet tomorrow and go back to class after years away. Anyway, I just wondered what everybody's staples were when following this?
I.e. What you always make sure you have in so you have a 'go to'.
Also, if you have any specific easy meal ideas they would be good to know too!
Thanks in advance.

Frylight
Potatoes
Eggs
Frozen mushrooms
Frozen peppers
Frozen tuna/cod/salmon to cook from frozen
Pickled beetroot/gherkins/onions
Laughing cow extra light triangles
Aldi benefit bars
Beans
Tinned spaghetti
Tinned tomatoes
Tinned tuna
Mushy peas
I batch cook and always have some free soup/mushy pea curry/bolognese sauce/curry/chilli in the freezer.
I also always make sure I have at least 3 fresh fruit and veg options, currently en route to a weekend away and know I have carrots, broccoli, green beans, grapes, melon and apples in the fridge with plenty of time on them when I get in.0 -

I've only been doing it for 3 days, but so far mine are Frylight, eggs, lots of salad and veg, semi-dried prunes, Muller Light yoghurts, stock cubes/herbs/spices, and bananas."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Frozen berries as emergency fruit in freezer
Frozen muller light (emergency "ice cream")

Adding mikado sticks, no sugar jelly and 1/2 syn cake if they haven't been mentioned. I've only been able to stick to it as I've found some low syn treatsHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Thank you again all. Some fab ideas! Can I ask, what is the 1/2 syn cake?
I have been 100% today but have been absolutely crippled with pain and bloating because of the fruit and veg. And I haven't even had more than the normal 5 a day! So fed up :sad:0 -

I have just bought a 4 pk of greek style yogs from aldi - fat free and coconut and vanilla flavour - they're 99p for 4 and 0 syns...and very, very tasty!!0 -
I'm not a big fruit eater, other than strawberries, and it can get very expensive piling the trolley up with fruit.
I like pasta n sauce, and supernoodles for a quick lunchtime fix (make sure they are the low fat supernoodles).
Love mushy peas, and my latest find, is cottage cheese with pineapple from ALDI is free!!! Other brands are synned so be careful.
Chocolate options, 2 syns per drink, lifesaver in the evenings when you want something sweet.
Pink and whites, 2.5 syns (I think, double check that one).
If you like frothy coffees, Dolce Gusto do a light version of their coffees, 2.5 syns each.Light Bulb Moment: October 2011
